Abilitations set of five lap fidgets provides sensory input to help improve focus and concentration. The lap fidgets are weighted to calm overly excited sensory systems, and have a maze design for building tactile discrimination, finger strength, and motor planning skills. The fidget’s exterior is a polyester-cotton blend, with a plastic ball filling for comfort and durability. Polyester shrinks at a very low temperature compared to other shrinkable plastics and forms an excellent mechanical barrier that can be used at both high and low temperatures. It is moisture and vapor resistant, and unaffected by oils, greases, and volatile aromatics. The fidgets measure 9.0 x 10.0 inches (L x W). (L is length, the horizontal distance from left to right; W is width, the horizontal distance from front to back.) The set may be suitable for some children on the autism spectrum and for special needs, early childhood, and elementary learning environments.
